We’re re-checking Welsh Water. Its last confirmed status is still shown here, because hiding a restriction we cannot currently re-read is the more expensive mistake, last confirmed 29 days ago.

Every water company supply area in England and Wales, coloured by live status. A hatched area means the ban covers part of that company’s area, not all of it: tap through, or check your postcode for the answer at your address. Scotland and Northern Ireland operate under separate regimes with no Temporary Use Bans, so they are listed below the map.

For these companies the map cannot answer for your address, because the ban covers only part of the area shown. The postcode checker resolves which side of the boundary you are on.

Anglian Water

NOT covered: Hartlepool Water; Hartlepool (TS24, TS25, TS26, TS27)

Hartlepool (TS24 to TS27) is supplied by Hartlepool Water, which has its own water resource zone and is explicitly excluded from this ban.

Southern Water

Covered: Hampshire; Isle of Wight; Hampshire and Isle of Wight (SO, PO)

NOT covered: East Sussex; West Sussex; Kent; Sussex and Kent (BN, TN, CT, ME)

Southern Water's Sussex and Kent customers are NOT covered. Sussex customers are asked to use water carefully but face no legal restriction and no fine.

Affinity Water

Covered: Central region (174 postcode districts); East region, Tendring peninsula (CO7, CO11, CO12, CO13, CO14, CO15, CO16)

NOT covered: Affinity Southeast region (CT)

Affinity's Southeast region is not covered. Affinity supplies water only here, so a household under this ban may share a postcode district with a Thames Water or Anglian Water customer who is not. In north-east Essex it overlaps Essex and Suffolk Water's separate ban; either could be lifted while the other stands.

Welsh Water

Covered: Ceredigion; Llanon; Tregaron; Crymych; Nevern; Pencader

NOT covered: Cardiff, Newport and north Wales (CF, NP, LL)

The majority of Welsh Water's supply area, including Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and most of north Wales, is not affected. This ban covers about 33,000 properties in one supply zone.

Every company on the map

Scottish Water and NI Water are not on the map: the boundary dataset covers England and Wales, and neither operates Temporary Use Bans under the England and Wales legislation.
