We cannot confirm United Utilities's current position from its own published notice, so this page asserts nothing about it. That is deliberate: a wrong all-clear here would send someone out with a hosepipe under a restriction carrying a fine of up to 1,000 pounds, and a wrong restriction would cost them a brown lawn for no reason. Check United Utilities's own notice, linked below, before using a hosepipe. Everything else on this page, the supply area, the exclusions, the penalties and the history, is stable information that does not depend on today's status.
What this site last recorded, on 30 July 2026, and which is what we can no longer stand behind today: Basis for this status, re-checked 30 July 2026: unitedutilities.com publishes no Temporary Use Ban notice anywhere on its site, and its /hosepipe-ban, water-supply and reservoir-level paths all 404, which is not something a company with a live restriction does. United Utilities' statement of 15 July 2026 reads: 'There are no plans for any restrictions in the north west, and our reservoir levels are above average for this time of year.' That statement reaches us through news coverage and the correction notices in secondarySources, NOT from a page on its own site, so a person still needs to confirm it directly. The 5 August 2026 claim a third-party tracker briefly reported, and corrected on 24 July 2026, must never be reinstated.
