Cambridge Water ban becomes enforceable on 17 July

Cambridge Water's Temporary Use Ban became enforceable at 01:00 on Friday 17 July 2026, having been announced on 9 July.

It covers about 350,000 households across Cambridgeshire with parts of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

Cambridge Water is part of the South Staffs Water group but supplies a separate region, and the South Staffs supply area is NOT covered by this ban.

Worth knowing if you are in CB or PE: Cambridge Water's supply area is defined by civil parishes and water quality zones, not by postcode. No CB postcode can be assigned to Cambridge Water rather than Anglian Water with certainty. Both companies have a ban in force, but their dates differ, so the supplier on your bill decides which applies.
